Ski touring

The ski touring region provides a number of enticing tours ranging from the simple to the challenging high ski tour. Get an overview for which route will suit you best. Several suggestions for the Interlaken region are provided with height and time information on this digital portal. The demanding uphill tour is rewarded with a beautiful 360-degree panorama of the mountains.

How about a ski tour on the Lombachalp towards Hohgant or from Niederhorn to the Gemmenalphorn? Both descents pass through deep snow to the pretty village of Habkern. In winter you can also tour fromAeschiried to Alp Brunni or on the Stockhorn. The Jungfrau region is easily reached from Interlaken. Here we recommend the routes from First station to the Faulhorn (2,682 m) or from the Schilthorn to the Hundshorn (2,929 m).

The Diemtigtal (Diemtig valley) is well known among touring skiers. Thanks to its easy accessibility, the nature park is also ideal for a day tour. From easier tours to the Meniggrat (1,949 m) to the more arduous Rothorn (2,410 m), the Diemtigtal offers a variety of challenging routes. The highest peak is the Männliflueh at 2,652 m, reserved for experienced touring skiers only.

A tour on the Galmschibe or Rauflihorn is especially popular and rewarding. The Drümännler (2,436 m) is an alternative to the Galmschibe if there isn’t enough snow.

Both the Turnen and Wiriehorn offer good opportunities for training.

Always take note of the avalanche and weather conditions when undertaking ski and snow tours. Current avalanche and snow conditions are regularly published by the Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research. To be able to experience the freedom of the mountains in full, we recommend accompanying a local mountain guide.
