Highlights Lake Thun region:
Would you like to discover the region's people and landscapes with a local? Guided winter hikes and snowshoe tours in the idyllic region and neighbouring valleys, winter boating trips with the Hotel’s own (heated!) «MS BEATUS II», or excursions to local artisans and specialities - experience all this and much more along with Volker and Susanne on weekdays.
Glistening snow, frozen streams and snowy landscapes. How does winter sound? It crackles under the snowshoes. There’s a gentle splash as a water bird glides on the unbroken lake surface. And if you listen closely, you’ll hear just how peaceful Lake Thun is this time of year.
Either classic or skating, the region gets cross-country skiers’ hearts beating faster. Varied, attractive and challenging trails run through a snowy winter paradise. And as you glide down the freshly groomed trails, take in the phenomenal views of the lake and mountains.
Across Alpine meadows, through pine forests and past log cabins, each stride brings you closer to the summit. From the simple Voralpenberg up to the challenging high ski tours, a number of routes are available. Discover unknown terrains, stimulating summits with powdery descents and a beautiful 360-degree panorama.
Five winter sport areas ensure variety and pure downhill fun: Beatenberg-Niederhorn, Brienz-Axalp, Diemtigtal, Habkern and Aeschi-Aeschiried. Curve down the white slopes, leave your trail in powder snow and let yourself be mesmerised by the breath-taking scenery of the Bernese Oberland.
