Energy consumption

We heat the wellness facilities and a large part of the hotel with our own lake water heat pump. Cooling is a by-product of the heat pump's operation. This is used to air-condition most of the rooms, the restaurants, the staff canteen and the kitchen. Our medium-term goal is to obtain the energy for heating and cooling only from the lake water heat pump.

Regionality
and seasonality

Our kitchen team uses regional, national and seasonal products wherever possible. The fish on our menu only comes from Switzerland, and we always offer vegan and vegetarian alternatives. Our spring water originates from Merligen. We also prefer to use local raw materials for our in-house work and work with tradespeople from the region.

Public transportation

With a bus stop directly in front of the hotel, our own landing stage for scheduled boats and the PanoramaCard Lake Thun, we encourage our guests to use public transport. Charging points are available for those arriving by electric car.

Hike & Bike

With us, you make good progress – on foot or by bike. As an official Hike & Bike hotel, we offer you a practical infrastructure for hikes and bike tours. Our nature guides are on hand to provide you with information on routes and maps.

Handling
with resources

Our guests can use the hotel app to control how often the room should be cleaned. Where possible, we use products that can be reused or are biodegradable. We strictly separate waste. We work digitally and largely paperless.

Equal pay

An independent specialist body regularly reviews the salaries paid in our company. The latest analysis shows that women and men are paid the same for the same work.

Wheelchair

We have a wheelchair-accessible room with step-free access and a shower with shower chair. The bed height is approx. 45 centimeters. Our restaurants, the breakfast area and the terrace are also accessible with a wheelchair.

Training and jobs

Together with our partner hotel ERMITAGE, we are currently training nine apprentices and employ seven staff with permit status F and S. Many of our employees live within walking distance of the place of work.

Cultural commitment

We sponsor local clubs and are a cooperation partner of FC Thun. We are actively committed to making the tourism industry sustainable and protecting the region and landscape. Guests of the Hotel BEATUS can enjoy a free music and cultural program.
